Nod32 Anti Virus Not Detecting Any Keylogger, Here Is The Solution

Last time I wrote a tutorial on what to do if Kaspersky does not detect any keylogger . Today’s post of mine is quite similar to it but the difference is in the software. If you are using Nod32 anti virus and it is not detecting any keylogger in your PC here is a solution for it.

As I have installed latest version of Nod32, so I’ll be giving screenshots of version 4.0 only.

Lets start :

Step1) Open Nod32 anti virus and click on Setup and from the drop down list select Advanced Setup or simply press F5.

Step2) In the left hand side panel, click on Antivirus and antispyware.

Step3) Now look at the right hand side panel and click Setup.

Step4) Now, in the options, put a tick on Potentially Unsafe Applications and then click on OK at the bottom.

Step5) Now again the left hand side panel, look for On Demand Computer Scan and click on it.

Step6) Now, in the right hand side panel, click on drop down list and select In-depth scan.

Step7) Click on Setup beside ThreatSense engine parameter setup, here put a tick on potentially Unsafe Applications and then click on OK at the bottom.

Step8) Now again from the drop down list select context Menu Scan and repeat Step7.

Step9) Now again from the drop down list select Smart Scan and repeat Step7.

Step10) Now in the main Advanced Setup window click on OK and restart your PC.

From now your Nod32 Anti Virus will detect all keyloggers and all unwanted applications.

The New Blogger appears to have another new feature that popped up just tonight I believe, as I was in the same place just last evening and it wasn't there then. No official announcement as of yet, but there are help files in place. And the new feature is, you can use your own domain name on Blogger.

Note, this is different than publishing via FTP to your own host, but rather your blog is still published to blogspot, and has all the advantages of the New Blogger on blogspot (dynamic publishing etc.). But instead of just a redirect, it appears Blogger will host the dns for the domain you select, and route it to your blogspot blog. Seems to me this has been something people have been wanting, and even more so now with all the new features of New Blogger on blogspot.


You can choose custom domain from the Blogger publishing settings.

This really isn't a surprise what with New Blogger image hosting being integrated with Picasa Web Albums, but while looking at something completely different I noticed some new javascript files being loaded with the post editor.

The one that caught my attention as new is this one.

It would seem that direct video uploads via the Blogger posting editor will be coming shortly.

This script appears to be for handling these coming video uploads, and how to display them in the posting editor. It appears that thumbnail images will be extracted and displayed, but if clicked on an iframe with an embedded flash player will play them. What I can't tell from poking around is if this will have it's own upload button or if it will piggyback off the current image uploading.

Of course this doesn't tell us when it's coming (days, weeks, months?) and I suppose they could change their mind (don't yell at me if they do) but it seemed obvious that this feature would be rolled out, and it appears to be coming sooner rather than later. I wonder if any other enhancements will make an appearance at the same time?

Blogger, Feedburner, Sitemaps and Submitting All Your Posts


Blogger users who wanted to submit a sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools have always had some disadvantages. Since we can't publish a real sitemap to the domain we are using we had to settle for only submitting a partial sitemap by using our default site feeds (which only contain the last 25 posts). Add to that confusion when Blogger introduced Feed Redirection (to FeedBurner or others) made things even trickier, as for awhile if you chose the feed redirection option, then you couldn't submit a sitemap. Fortunately Blogger came up with a super secret option (so secret they never bothered to tell anyone) that fixes the problem for submitting a sitemap when feed direction is enabled ( hat tip to Amit for letting their secret out). And in the same step opened up a way to submit all your posts in a sitemap, instead of just the last 25.

So, starting at the beginning. To submit a Blogspot hosted blogs feed as a sitemap to GWT, you have to use the root-level feed that Blogger provides.

Of course change yourblog to your blog name, or using your custom domain. Which one you choose doesn't matter really, one is Atom and one is RSS format. Either will work.

Taking care of the redirect

If you are using the redirect option on your feed, you can add a query parameter to stop the redirect on your feed in the format of (I'm only giving the filename paths here)

atom.xml?redirect=false


That will keep the feed from redirecting and is now usable as a sitemap at GWT.

Submitting all your posts

Previously the root-level Blogger feeds did not accept any query parameters, but when Blogger added the redirect=false one, they also seemed to open up those feeds to all the known Blogger query parameters. And that's how you can submit more than the standard 25 posts. First off, figure out how many posts you have (you can do this at the Blogger Edit Post page and selecting only published posts, it will tell you how many total you have). Then you can use the max-results and start-index parameters to expand the number of results obtained, and to submit more than one map if needed. Note: Currently Blogger limits the max-results to 500 entries. This has gone up and down a couple of times so it could change. As of right now the upper limit appears to be 500. But 100 was the limit at one time.

I'm going to use the max limit of 100 in my examples, you can use more if that's what you want. So to get the first set of 100 posts the url I'd submit would be

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100


Then, if I have more than 100 posts (I currently have 105) I can create another sitemap with the url

/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=101&max-results=100


If you notice, just increase the start-index number by the amount of results you are getting. So the first sitemap started at 1, and returned 100 results, the second sitemap would use the start-index of 101 (100+1). Now that should automatically cover me for the next 95 posts. If I had more than 200 posts, just create another sitemap with the start-index of 201 (you get the idea). GWT will automatically download the sitemaps (usually about once a day) and if I've made a new post it should get added to the mix. Here's a screenshot of my current sitemaps in GWT, which I've been doing this way for almost a month.



Having said all that, two last things. One, I don't really think all of this helps any (if at all). Blogger blogs aren't that difficult to crawl and Google will probably crawl your blog just as well with or without a sitemap of any kind. Two, if you really wanted to create a non-feed sitemap with some sort of sitemap generating tool, then according to this recent post at Google Webmaster Central Blog, you could upload a sitemap for blogspot through another verified site (like maybe googlepages? I haven't really tried it).

The USB flash drive is compact and easy to carry around. However, as the storage device is so common and easily used, the percentage of the drive being infected by viruses has also increased substantially.

In the Start-->Run and type cmd to run the Command Prompt Window.In the Command Window, type in your flash drive’s drive letter (if your pen drive is detected as G, then type G: and so on). Once you have gone in to your pen drive, now type dir/w/o/a/p and hit Enter. You will then see a list of files. Search whether any of these files appear or exist:

1. Autorun.inf
2. New Folder.exe
3. Bha.vbs
4. Iexplore.vbs
5. Info.exe
6. New_Folder.exe
7. Ravmon.exe
8. RVHost.exe or any other files with “.exe” extension

Flash Disinfector: was designed to remove unwanted files including autorun.inf on removable USB drives, flash drives and memory sticks. Use flash disinfector if you cannot access your USB drives, flash drives and memory stick due to modifications done by autorun Worms.

Clean Autoruns: When you open the drive , it says that it could not find the script file C:\autorun.vbs and whenever you right click on it some weird characters are shown.Now you cant open your drives unless you explore them.

The symptom occurs because when autorun.vbs is created by trojan horse or virus. The virus normally loads autorun.inf file to root folder of all hard drive or USB drive, and then execute autorun.bat file which contains script to apply and merge autorun.reg into the registry, with possible change to the following registry key to ensure that virus is loaded when system starts.:

Finally, autorun.bat will call wscript.exe to run autorun.vbs


Autoruns utility, which has the most comprehensive knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login, and shows you the entries in the order Windows processes them. These programs include ones in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other Registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell extensions, toolbars, browser helper objects, Winlogon notifications, and auto-start services.

• Create a target folder for Autoruns, e.g. "%programfiles%\Autoruns".
  
• Extract all files from autoruns.zip to the target folder.
  
• Inside your target folder you will find the following files now: autoruns.chm autoruns.exe autorunsc.exe Eula.txt
  
• To launch Autoruns GUI version double click autoruns.exe.
  
• If this is the first time you launch autoruns, you may be prompted to agree to the license terms. Either accept them and use autoruns or decline them and remove autoruns from your hard disk, please.
  
• To launch Autoruns command line version, open cmd.exe. Change to the target folder, e.g. "cd %programfiles%\autoruns". Execute autorunsc.exe plus the appropriate command line arguments.
  
• To launch Autoruns help file, double click autoruns.chm.

Virus RVHost- How to remove it?

The use of USB pen drive devices to spread the virus RVHost and other nasty things is rampant in your part of the world

1. Download and Run ComboFix (how to use it Click here)
Download this file from either of the two below listed places :

2. Doubleclick on combofix.exe and follow the prompts. A window will open with a warning. Type "1" (and Enter) to start the fix. When the scan completes Notepad will open with with your results log open. Do a File, Exit and answer 'Yes' to save changes.

A caution - Do not touch your mouse/keyboard until the scan has completed, as this may cause the process to stall or your computer to lock. The scan will temporarily disable your desktop, and if interrupted may leave your desktop disabled. If this occurs, please reboot to restore the desktop. Even when ComboFix appears to be doing nothing, look at your Drive light. If it is flashing, Combofix is still at work.

2. Clean any remaining autoruns infections.

• Download the "NoScript" utility by Symantec to your Desktop from:

• Download and run "Flash Drive Disinfector" by sUBs. It does not matter if you have flash drives or not, the program is simply named that:
